What is the essence of being a woman? I have always heard this question being asked in beauty pageants and competitions and I have also heard a lot of different answers to the said question.
Some would say that the essence of being a woman is in being beautiful. Others believe that it’s in her being a mother, while others would also say that it’s in the grace and poise that only a woman can possess.
What is truly the essence of being a woman?
If I would have to answer the question, I would say that it’s not only the capacity of a woman to bear a child, nor only beauty, nor only grace and poise that makes a woman, a woman.
Not all women are gifted with the ability to have a child and not all women have chosen to have a child even if they can have one.
Yet, that doesn’t make them less of a woman.
Each woman is unique. Each has a different beauty, a different sense of style, identity, personality, dreams and a different way of carrying herself. But regardless of the differences, each one is essential.
For me, being a woman doesn’t lie in only one particular characteristic, but rather in everything that a woman has which separate her from men and all other beings; those truly distinct qualities which you can only find in a woman.
This quality includes her ability to open her heart and to give out a love so pure and unconditional, her beauty and style, the care which naturally comes from her being a mother, her tenderness and compassion, her ability to withstand her pain and tears; and even her vanity and complexities and all her unseen qualities, make up all the characteristics which gives a woman her essence.
The fox once said to the Little Prince “It’s only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
The essence of being a woman is more than just a beautiful face and body.
A woman’s essence can be seen by more than just the eye. Each woman is intricately wrapped by layers and layers of qualities which make up her very fundamental nature and her essence.
Here are a few books that really capture the essence of women, and I highly recommend reading.
