Save the date
You will probably want your nearest and dearest to celebrate your big day with you, and so, once you’ve set the date, it’s a good idea to let them know. Sending save the date cards is a great, but informal way, of making sure that they don’t double book.
Around 8 weeks before your big day, send out formal invitations. This will give guests that don’t live nearby ample time to arrange suitable accommodation and will give you time to confirm numbers with your venue once RSVP’s have been returned.

Choosing a colour scheme is essential to allow many other necessities to be ordered. It will allow you to pick bridesmaids dresses and organise flowers. Invitations, table plans, and even the ribbon on the front of the wedding car can all match your scheme if you want them to.
