Looks that Flatter the Body

Do you know what looks flatter your body?  In this world of fashion, finding  looks that flatter the body can be really frustrating.  But looking great doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to wear expensive designer clothes.  The key to looking great is knowing your body shape.  When you know your body shape, it becomes easier to find looks that flatter the body and accentuate all your best features.  To help you with your fashion dilemma, I have listed the different body shapes common to women and how you can embrace your body type with the right looks.

Pear

The lower part of your body is wider than the upper part.  Your best assets are your shoulders, torso, arms, and your flat stomach.  Resist the urge to wear tight-fitting shirts to show off your slender upper body.  This makes the lower part of your body look bigger than it actually is.  Don’t wear bottoms that emphasize the size of your hips and thighs.  Go for light-colored tops and dark-colored bottoms.  Creating balance is important to making sure you look fabulous. looks that flatter the body

Hourglass

The size of your shoulders and hips are proportional to each other and is set off by a tiny waist.  You’re one heck of a lucky girl if you’ve this body shape.  Your best assets are your curves!  Wear tops and bottoms that show off your contours, but still make sure that you’re using clothes that are not too tight.  Show off your curves but don’t go overboard.

Rectangle

Your top and bottom part are of the same size.  You have a small bust and a little waist definition.  Your best feature is your slender, athletic look.  Do some layering to add more dimension to your look.  Create curves by using tops that have ruffles and collars.  You can also go for dresses that get cinched on the waist.  Show off your slender legs and arms!

Circle

You have a body that is soft and round, and your best features are your slender legs and slight shoulders.  You shouldn’t cover up your body as that only makes you look bigger than you really are.  Add structure to your upper body by using structured blazers and showing off your neckline.  Dresses with ruching at the center hide your tummy and create an hourglass look.  Elongate your legs by wearing heels and showing off a little leg.

The whole idea of finding looks that flatter the body revolves around proportion and balance.  Getting that right will flatter your body in all the right ways.
